- First you must register on the Mindful Village website. Here we request your name, address, phone number, children’s ages and other pertinent information. We will not sell or distribute your personal information in any way without your consent. We require this information so that we can provide group statistics for the purpose of grantwriting. - You will then get an email with a confirmation link which you must click to confirm your email address with the bulletin board.
- Once you have confirmed your email address, your registration will be complete. Please allow up to one hour for the system to complete your registration. You will have full access to the public forums on our message board and will be able to post replies, questions or comments. You can also create a profile & send private messages to facilitators and other members. You will have 6 months to explore our community, meet others, plan events, etc. and decide whether you wish to become a full member.
- Registration to this forum is $10.00 per family, annually. You are permitted only ONE registration and ONE identity per person. Multiple registrations and identities will be removed at the discretion of the administrator. We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. Other family members are allowed to register a username at no additional cost. Please send an email to
after registering each additional family member and reference your family’s membership number along with their username. We ask that all members pay a $10.00 membership fee, to provide us with funds for maintaining the website and discussion board, special events, networking and speakers, as well as a lending library and other costly endeavors. Our finances are clearly outlined in the “Finance” section of the discussion board. Mindful Village is a non-profit organization. Dues can be paid through Paypal (greatly preferred) or to Mindful Village‘s P.O. Box address. We offer a sliding scale for families in need, and pledge to provide membership to all who show commitment to our mission, no matter what their ability to pay. Your membership fee is tax-deductible. Website: Our website is an easy to use, fully searchable bulletin board system, where we connect and organize activities. Our website is a wonderful way to connect in discussion with like-minded families in Connecticut, as well as to find unique discussions for fathers, grandparents & caregivers, older children looking to connect with local friends, and more. We also have resources and links for all types of natural living choices in Connecticut, such as breastfeeding, cloth diapering, homeschooling, health care practitioners, food cooperatives, kid friendly stores and restaurants, etc.
Monthly and Weekly Meetings: Frequent opportunities to join with fellow members/friends for association and support.
Calendar of Events: This part of our bulletin board lists all of our current playgroups, fieldtrips, monthly gatherings, weekend events, workshops and community volunteer projects.
Food Co-op: Purchase and receive organic and natural products from local farmers, CSAs and mail-order sources such as pasture-fed meat, poultry eggs, raw milk, kefir, cheeses and more.
Book Club: Explore new books with friends on a monthly basis.
Speakers: We strive to host speakers who represent what our members wish to hear on natural living topics, such as organic food, sprouting, progressive schooling, wellness care for families, carseat education, fertility and natural family planning, and many other topics.
Quarterly Potlucks: An opportunity to gather with other families and share a meal and the joy of association and community.
Community Volunteer Outreach Projects: A twice-yearly project to give back to the community through volunteer outreach.
Playgroups: Weekly playgroups that includes many different ages. Special playgroups, such as ones devoted to baby sign language and music, are also common
Lending Library:Books on many different parenting and natural living topics are available to loan to members.
